Two land borders are within a day's drive of Quy Nhon, and both accept the Vietnam e-visa. Your passport usually decides which one to use.
| Route | Into | Distance and time | Visa for the other side |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quy Nhon – Le Thanh | Cambodia (O Yadav) | about 250 km, 4½–5 hours each way | Cambodian visa on arrival at O Yadav, unless you are visa-exempt |
| Quy Nhon – Bo Y | Laos (Phou Keua) | about 290 km, about 6 hours each way | Laos visa-exempt passport, or a Lao visa we arrange before the trip |
Rule of thumb: visa-exempt for Laos (for example Russian, Korean, Japanese, ASEAN passports)? Bo Y works well. Everyone else: Le Thanh, where Cambodia sells visas on arrival.
